Read on to find out what has made it to number 1: 10) Retail: Ahhhh retail if you don’t mind working evenings and weekends then a temporary Christmas job in retail is for you. You’ll be expected to work long hours on the key days leading up to Christmas too. Also don’t forget the Boxing Day sales, you’ll be needed for that. Its not all bad though, it could quite easily lead to a permanent job if you impress. Chopping them down is tough, and while its probably some great tree eating machine that does it… we like to think theres a dedicated team of lumberjacks going out axes in hand! 6) Sprout picker: Love them or hate them, Sprouts are a fixture of the traditional Christmas dinner. There are 4 billion sprouts bought in the UK in the week before Christmas, with the average Brit consuming 14 sprouts. That means the people that enjoy eating sprouts are actually munching through about 3,000 each! A staggering 28% of sprouts bought over Christmas end up in the bin. So those of you that shun sprouts, spare a thought for the poor picker who gathered them on a freezing cold December morning. Eat up! 5) Head of Programming at BBC/ITV: This may seem a strange one, granted you’re not going to get a seasonal job as the head of programming at a major TV company, but if there is a high pressure job at Christmas then this is it! Christmas Day TV has got to be all killer and no filler, all the family are gathered wanting entertainment. The average UK family watch almost 5 hours of TV on Christmas Day. Main tasks involve preparing food and water, cleaning them out and reporting any changes in their behaviour. Its not the most glamorous of jobs, but if you like working with animals then this is the perfect seasonal job for you! 3) Turkey plucker: Probably not one for the squeamish, or any vegetarians, but someone has got to prepare your Christmas dinner centrepiece. Of the 17 million turkeys produced in the UK each year, just over 10 million of them will be consumed at Christmas. Around 90% of UK families will serve Turkey for Christmas dinner. Admittedly this will very much be a seasonal job, but if you just need a few weeks work for a bit of extra money at Christmas then it could be perfect for you. 2) Queens  speech writer: What does everybody do at 3pm on Christmas Day? Of course, everyone procrastinates in some form or fashion and it's something that is so natural.Why do I procrastinate writing a resume? Well, there are many reasons for why you may procrastinate. Some people do it because they don't feel good about themselves or because they are not sure about what they should write.Others will feel that writing a resume is not something that they should be doing but the fact of the matter is that, when it comes to resumes, writing is important. The things that you know, doing the things that you want to do, and even talking to a new person are all things that you can use to promote yourself in today's job market.Why do I procrastinate writing a resume? A lot of people worry that they are not going to get the job they deserve, but it is also important to realize that some jobs are d efinitely harder to get than others. Sometimes, the reason that you procrastinate is because you don't have a choice. When you are just starting out, you may not have any other option.I know of a good friend who was wondering why do I procrastinate writing a resume. His work position did not allow him to take the time to write a resume. He didn't know anyone who wrote a resume. He figured that since he was just starting out, he wasn't going to be able to get a job as soon as he applied, so why should he bother.There are two reasons why do I procrastinate writing a resume. One is because of social pressures. If you're reading this article now, you probably have a social group that has things in common with you. You know, friends, family, and activities.Another reason why do I procrastinate writing a resume is because I am scared of what my boss will think. I know that I will get a certain amount of jobs because of my experience, but if I do not have my dream job, I will probably go b ack to my former job. And then, the cycle will continue.So, why do I procrastinate writing a resume? In my opinion, the answer is simple. My advice to you is to just start. Don't let the fear of failure or the feeling that you don't have what it takes to make you stop.

First comes Why, Then Comes How By, Nicole Crimaldi It seems that there are thousands of books written about how to properly manage ones personal finances. These books and experts preach about how much of your income you should be spending vs. saving, what investments will make you the most money, how to ideally set up your accounts, etc. etc. etc. These books remind me of the thousands of books written about losing weight. What to eat, how much to work out, what miracle vitamin you should be taking Of the MANY personal finance books that are on my personal book shelf, none of them seem to address the fact that no matter how many perfect rules you know about managing your finances, the information is useless if you dont have a good understanding about your attitude towards and relationship with your money first. In other words, a severely overweight person cant lose weight by reading books and memorizing health facts but, rather, by understanding WHY they over eat and why they have chosen a sedentary lifestyle in the first place. Until they understand the WHY, then accept and embrace change, the HOW is useless. If you are struggling with over-spending, under-saving and/or constantly feeling enslaved to your bills, put down the personal finance books for a minute and try doing some soul searching first. Here are a few questions you can start with: What does having money mean to you? What does NOT having money mean to you? What did your parents teach you about money? When were you first responsible for your own bills? How did this first affect you? Think back to your first job and how your relationship with money has been since then.

I. The Issue with Over Accessibility The majority of sales representatives whom I buy goods or services from for my recruiting firm can be overly accessible and, thus appear desperate. At the complete opposite end of the spectrum, a significant number of sales representatives play the “scarcity card” with the intent of being perceived as busy and important. However, these individuals appear aloof, unresponsive and ineffective to any buyer. They, too lose out to a competing vendor. The happy medium between between over-accessiblity and over-scarify makes the sales rep. appear as competent, client-focused and trustworthy. Interestingly enough, there is only a few hour difference between the two. Less Than 30 or More Than 180 I’ve noticed that when our sales recruiting company gets back to a client lead within 30 minutes, we are less apt to receive an enthusiastic response from that prospect compared to when we return their request an hour after their inquiry. However, when our headhunters get busy and are unable to return their call 3 hours or later after initial contact, we receive a response similar to when we appear hasty. II. Precision As a sales representative, being precise is the difference between writing unique emails to prospects and mass emailing a generalized note to a generalized list of random leads. Even though the former technique yields a much higher response rate from more sought after clientele, very infrequently do I receive tailored pitches from potential recruiting vendors. When I do, I respond and when I send similar correspondence, the target typically responds back. Take the difference between the following blurbs from sales related solicitations: Generic “Hi, My peers are evaluating me in this 360* Peer Evaluation. Can you take a minute to give me a vote of confidence?” Precise “It has been a while since we last spoke…I wanted to send you a message to see if your company was ready to make a strong move in video on your youtube channel. Im thinking quality, business-grade videos each week discussing anything and everything about job hunting and your company.” It’s Not a Numbers Game Sales professionals are wired to think that business development is about numbers. Throw enough s*** against the wall and something will stick. Yes, something may stick, but in order to get to that sale, that business development representative gave a poor impression to 30, 60 or 90 other leads. The majority of sales representatives whom our recruiters work with should prospect 1/8 as much, but be 10x more precise per contact and their numbers through client acquisition, retention and cross-selling would skyrocket. In the End While there are other more complex factors involved in effective salesmanship, most difference makers are quite small, easy to implement and once done can be converted into higher commissions and a more successful sales career.
